Daily Summer Journal Freebie & Mother's Day fun!

The following is a freebie gift idea for your students. Personally, I will give each of my students a spiral notebook to use as a summer journal. I made my little nuggets journals all.the.time! I don't assign them anything to write at home...they want to write at home! I have some very exciting writing activities I have created to share with you this summer.

This cover I would use with a construction paper journal. Simply fold a large sheet of construction paper "hamburger style" and insert writing paper.
This cover is small to fit on the front of a composition notebook. These are very reasonably priced during back to school sales.

This is the cover colored & pasted on a spiral notebook. These were purchased for a penny EACH! I always stock up on these every time I see them on sale. The other side of the cover has these journal writing tips that they can also color.

We had so much fun getting ready for Mother's Day this year. Here are a few pics from our classroom.

Each student wrote their own sweet message on this little chalk board. I bought this for the hubs a while back & it hangs in his bathroom. He saw me carrying it one day & said "Oh, are you finally changing the message?" Um, no hon it's for my babies at school...duh!
Holy cuteness, right? I was D.Y.I.N.G. after these all were done. They wrote the cutest stuff inside! This fabulous purse can be purchased from Miss Kindergarten..you know Hadar?? Of course you do!

Look at the variety! They all picked out their own colors. I just purchased one of those big packs of scrapbook paper from Joann Fabrics.
If you really have extra time yeah right or an aide you can do this to the center. As you can see, we did not. This is the one I made for a sample.

Here is a pic of the purse after the coupons were added. My coupons can be purchased here.

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mother! I truly don't know what I would do without you!

Happy Mother's Day to all your mom's, aunts, godmothers & even furry mommy's!

The hubs was dying to wake me up this morning. He finally told me there was a present for me downstairs for Mother's Day. Present???? I.LOVE.PRESENTS! The card above really made my heart melt. He did make his first gift mistake. He bought me an appliance. Yes, I said appliance. It is a Black & Decker toaster oven. I am not complaining because I got a gift & technically I'm not a real mom yet. But, a toaster oven??? Stay tuned for details for Father's Day. I'm thinking he needs some lawn bags....ha! #blesshisheart #paybacksarebrutal

Fabulous Feedback

I am linking up with the fabulous Christina Bainbridge
for a fabulous feedback linky! I love reading each & every feedback I receive on my products. They really touch my heart!
If you see your name in the following products, you can choose ANYTHING from my TPT Store just to show how much I appreciate you!

The above product is a top TPT product. My students are absolutely OBSESSED over these. They loved them so much & I received so many requests for more, I ended up making 65 more!

I have created two units so far. The amount of work and hours put into them are insane! I WILL DO a Fall-a-licious unit but it will probably take me ALL.SUMMER.LONG. I do appreciate the feedback received on my spring & winter units!

If you click on the Candy Land tab above it will take you to the nearly 100 games I have created! I have a HUGE to-do list this summer to make more! We adopted a new reading series & have a newer math series that need major supplements. I use these games during Daily 5 (reading & math), RTI, tutoring, & small groups. Even though I created all of these my students NEVER get tired of it. If it was up to them they would play these games all day long!

If you see your feedback above please leave me a comment with the item of your choice from my STORE along with your email. Or you can privately email me @ seusstasticblogspot@gmail.com

Teachers Taking Over Instagram

Link up with Apples and ABC's and What The Teacher Wants to share the love on Instagram!  I have been obsessed with Instagram lately for a couple of reasons.  My favorite part is that you can interact with teachers all over the world to share ideas, comment back and forth, and as bloggers, promote your amazing ideas and TpT items.
Michelle and Rachelle are hosting a linky party to kick off "Teacher Talk Tuesday!"
Here are some of my photos....some are not so teacher related but most are...I try.

Our summer countdown rings! I hope I don't get observed tomorrow...the ring is to sit on the floor all day! Whoosie!

I am IN LOVE with my new Asics shoes! Dear Asics, you're welcome for all the future teacher sales!

I am starting to makeover my classroom library...I'm bored. I am buying Big Lots out of their bins! Notice the peace signs?????
This is my niece and I...I let her borrow my crown...I do put a lot of family photos.......mostly of my furry babies.

Yes, this cutie patootie is yours truly!

My furry babies..................
Finally, I can tie ANYTHING to a standard!

Spring-a-licious Fun!

Here is a little peek at our Spring-a-licious week!

Missing addends are usually painful for my little nuggets. They love when they have center activities! Does the cuteness help them? I'd say so!

In ten years I have NEVER had math stations.... just call me ineffective. I wouldn't change this for the world! I feel like I have helped my students with these challenging CCSS concepts with all the hands on review.

We have struggled with greater than/less than this year. The more exposure they get, the better! Once upon a time when our standard was to 20 or even 50 it wasn't as difficult but now that it is 120+ it's difficult.
Double digits in first grade?????? Thanks Common Core! It is overwhelming but they do understand with lots of practice!

How about some Spring-a-licious fraction action? The cutesy chevron doesn't hurt the eyes either! I wish they had this rug still :o(
Mental math=kicking and screaming! When you give them a dry-erase marker..not so much.
Prepositions.....seriously? I'm pretty sure I remember learning this in middle school or maybe 3rd grade! I do remember this..............I don't think colored ink & centers were even invented back then!

How about some Spring-a-licious Fact or Opinions? Holy cuteness!
EOY Dibels is right around the corner........need some practice!

Noun, Verb, Adjective word sort.....never can have enough practice with this concept! After they were finished, they used some these Spring-a-licious words to write a Spring-a-licious story during Work on Writing.
If only the Chicagoland weather was as nice & bright as these centers! They were all like "What's the sun?"
Spring ABC order is always a hit! I made sure to put this center out right away. After they were all finished I put the word cards in our vocab pocket chart located in our writing center.

Click on any pic above or HERE to purchase my SPRING-A-LICIOUS Common Core aligned unit! It will be on sale all week long!
Come follow me on Instagram!!!

I have been a pinning maniac creating an EOY board. I plan on throwing my fabulous firsties a totally peaced out PARTAAAY! They are working towards a goal & they know I can throw a PARTAAY so they will obtain it! Follow my Pinterest board here & stay tuned!
