End of the Year Awards Ceremony

End of the Year Awards Ceremony

This year was our 3rd year for our end of the year awards ceremony. I have to say this year was the BEST yet!

End of the Year Awards Ceremony

We are lucky enough to have a brand new beautiful school. We also have a gorgeous stage that our staff signs up for. I had big plans at the end of last year to do plays, have a mother's day tea, etc. Well...the year just slipped away.
I had to get these first graders on this beautiful stage! They did have a performance for the first time this year that was produced by our music teacher. They did awesome! They loved the stage!

If you follow me on IG then you know I have an obsession with black and gold right now. When I am going through a phase it spreads to every part of my life. I had a vision of what I wanted it to look like. I will leave all the links at the end of this blog post for everything I purchased.

Decorations everywhere!

End of the Year Awards Ceremony

The lights above are called "fairy lights". I originally purchased these for my dressing room. I am in the process of redecorating and these lights are going around my make-up table. Guess what colors I'm going with?
This year I chose to use neon colored card stock instead of printing out in color. I did print out all the candy bar awards in color. I also gave each student two different awards. I made the candy bar award more "fun" and the full page award was more serious.

End of the Year Awards Ceremony

I started out the ceremony by reading something Miss DeCarbo posted on IG and I was bawling up there. The kids were SILENT. I was a serious HOT.MESS. Seriously.... it was hot up there and I had no control of the thermostat...gah! I had to retype what Christina posted so it matched my post..I know I have issues.
I told my co-workers later on that I made up half the things I said because after crying so hard I couldn't even read it. I was going off memory...lol. I also sold several products so I was getting TPT notifications as well...classic!

The sign on the bottom left was made by yours truly so I can't leave a link to that. I was super proud of what started out as a piece of cardboard. My students absolutely LOVE getting their picture taken...especially with props!

I had some wonderful volunteers taking pics. I even had a mom bring in a Polaroid camera and make these for the kids. They were amazed by these instant pics!

I made most of the props by just enlarging graphics and adding text over the graphics.

After the award ceremony we had three stations set up. I was in charge of the photo booth...that MIGHT be why there was 1000 props available.
We also had our wonderful new teacher below in charge of "freeze dance".

By far, the most popular station was the GONOODLE station below. The kids went all Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs over this on the big screen!

End of the Year Awards-Updated!

End of the Year Awards

I created these awards three years ago and every year they keep getting better. With each classroom comes different students with unique personalities. Any of your students could fit any of these awards. Well, this year I created even more! I don't think there could possibly be a student that doesn't fit one of these awards!
I ended up adding 35 BRAND NEW AWARDS!!!!

+++I added voting slips and various award tracker sheets to help with your organization. +++

Here is an excerpt from a blog post last year about these awards BEFORE they were updated.

"Holy Mama! I had no idea what a hit these awards were going to be for my students and all of you. I was pleasantly surprised when I went browsing on TPT this morning & saw this product of mine was in the top 5! Holy Schnikey's! I about fell over! My husband just doesn't realize the feeling of being on cloud 9 over this. Not only am I filled with excitement that this product was actually purchased...I am thinking about all those little nuggets that will be getting these awards all over the world.
That my friends made my entire school year!
Thank you!"

Even though this took me days to update (I work like a turtle), I kept it the same price! I added over 100+ pages so now this product is a total of 322 pages! In honor of Teacher Appreciation, I kept it for the same price, $6.

I set up a podium, purchased a red carpet & wrote their names on yellow stars. It looked so adorable! You should have seen how sassy they were strutting down that red carpet! You can purchase the red carpet here.  The red carpet idea was inspired by friend Reagan over at Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits

If you'd like the chance to win these awards...please leave your email in the comments & show me some comment love! Have a wonderful end of the year!

Airborne~A Must Have for all Teachers!

If you are a teacher, and you are reading this....I know you have heard of Airborne. I have been taking this since I discovered it was invented by a teacher genius. Um...HeLlO!!!! Who would know how to build up our immune systems more than a teacher?!?

Airborne recently released Airborne Everyday, a new product that I know you would be interested in. Airborne Everyday Immune Support Plus Multivitamin helps support your immune system and overall health every day. This convenient supplement is designed to provide immune support plus a multivitamin.

The hubs and I have been taking this new product daily for weeks. #amazing
Along with taking Airborne we have been trying to eat healthier, work out, and take better care of ourselves in general. Yoga is also on my to do list. I would love to add this to a workout routine daily.

I introduced this product to a new teacher that is filling in for the remainder of the year. One of the first things I do with new teachers is pull them aside and tell them my tips and tricks to staying healthy. Airborne, is my secret!

I was also lucky enough to go to a huge Indiana blogger meet-up last weekend in French Lick, IN. Guess what is in my teacher tool exchange gift? You guessed it! Airborne.

Airborne is giving away this amazing new product to some of my readers. Please leave me a comment below with your email address. Tell me what your trick is to stay healthy as a teacher?

#giveit100

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3ehaBhEm6ngOGhMcEtQbzl5ek0/view?usp=sharing
So I posted this image on my instagram today and was hoping to get some interest...I did. Yay!

It took so much for me to push "share" because I knew once I shared it... it would be out there...... permanently! O.M.G. I did it! In sharing it, I am hoping this will make me accountable. At least I hope.

One thing in my life that I have always struggled with is my weight. Well, not all my life. Once I hit 30 it all went down hill after that. I never had a weight problem because I pretty much was able to eat what I wanted and never went over 140. I was stick thin in my early twenties but I also didn't eat anything. Do I want to live my life like that? Um, no. I like food too much...obviously.

I have been on so many fad diets and have joined weight watchers at least 6 times and dropped out. I joined once again but am only using their app. Well, I was up until California. I used to be able to lose 20 lbs in a month without a problem. Well, this age thing is not my friend. Ever since I hit the 30 mark everything is harder. It's harder to lose weight and keep it off. Very hard!

My husband always tells me that I just need to exercise and it will come off. I haven't found anybody I could pay to exercise for me so I am stuck doing it..ha! I haven't lasted long enough to make it a habit. I will give any excuse in the book not to exercise. By the time I get home from teaching those precious 6-7 years olds....I.AM.EXHAUSTED.

I absolutely love blogging and making products BUT I have put the weight on big time since I started. I just can't seem to find the balance that I need. I am struggling.

After I went to the awesome meet-up in French Lick a few weeks ago...I have been thinking of an exercise plan. Note...thinking of one. I really....REALLY...hate pictures of myself. I cringed every time I would see a pic pop up with me in it. I shouldn't feel that way and it makes me sad. I have let myself go and I need to stop.

In order to build up my self esteem and confidence I decided to give #giveit100 a try. I created the following document while I was in California. I hope you can use it!

I will be uploading videos throughout this journey on giveit100.com
You can make your videos private or public. It will only show the first 10 seconds of your video. I plan on holding up my daily signs for each video. My goal is to walk at least 20 minutes/day for 100 days.

You can come up with any goal you would like. There is all sorts of goals that people post on giveit100.com. It's anything that you want to practice or do for 100 straight days.

Why did I pick Sunday, March 29th to start??? Because it is exactly 100 days until I leave for the TPT Vegas Conference!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!? When I presented last year, I was so nervous! Especially, about my weight and standing up and presenting in front of so many people. I know I come off as being very confident but in all honestly...I am not.

So here it is...all out in the open. I hope you will join me! I will not be posting on my blog about this. I will be posting videos to giveit100.com under the name @seusstastic. I will also post occasionally on instagram. I don't think I will daily...but I don't know yet. I really don't want to make any promises and then I drop the ball. When I start posting on instragram I will be using the hashtag #giveit100 and #teachersgiveit100.

I am praying that the sign above will be the one I am holding in 100 days from now! Click on any image to grab this document. The document below is editable to add your very own goal if it is different from mine. Good luck! We got this!

Human Hungry Hippos & Big News!

So, I have this little FB page HERE and posted a video of an activity we did after school this week. It reached close to 600K people in a few days....what???? #holycrapballs (excuse my language) at least I didn't use the "s" word...you know "stupid" :o)

I work with some fabulous teachers my friends. About once a month we get together to burn off some stress after school. It's always an activity that keeps everyone laughing! Two of our third grade teachers found a video on youtube and said..."What about this?" Yes, please! I was the first one to volunteer my photography & videography services. I was afraid I would hurt myself & I really wanted to sit back the first time to laugh observe.

I'm not sure who blew up the balloons or how many we had...we had a lot! On the left is our secretary counting out the steps and marking each spot so we didn't have cheaters.
Baskets were from the Dollar Tree and we had the scooters in the gym already.
We also had a Bluetooth player blasting some 80's music to get everyone in the mood.
Next, we picked teams. Well....they stood on the black line and counted off....1..2..3..4. Team two won every single game but we actually caught team 1 cheating...ha!

The video we watched had ropes attached to the scooters but we did not play that way. The game literally lasts about 50 seconds. You definitely can take turns on the scooter and pushing the scooter. Thankfully, nobody was too aggressive and nobody got hurt...our stomachs hurt from laughing...that is about it.

This is the first video I have ever posted to youtube! I can't believe how easy it was! Stay tuned for more videos!!!! Uh-oh! You have been warned!

I also wanted to make an official and exciting announcement! I am so honored and ecstatic about presenting in Las Vegas this summer for TPT...AGAIN!!!! I blogged all about my fabulous trip and presentation HERE.
